Today we learnt some ICT
Today we were allowed to go to Mrs Addison’s class and the year 5 children taught us some new ICT skills. We really enjoyed visiting another class and we had a great time. We learnt how to log in to websites like busy things and purple mash. We even practiced some maths skills and some mouse control.

Our Trip to SEARCH museum
On Tuesday 29th January, HMS Explorers started their trip with a picnic in the classroom. Great excitement!
At 12 o’clock, we boarded a coach that took us down to Gosport. We spent two hours exploring, playing and investigating old and new toys. We learnt that many old toys were made from wood and were more robust than toys we play with today. Some of our favourites were the space hopper, quoits, Jack in the Box and spinning tops. We really enjoyed dressing up in costumes from a long time ago.
A big thank you to Mrs Owen, Mrs Khanna and Mrs Ingram for volunteering to come along with us.
We have had lots of fun and produced some excellent writing about our experiences back in class.

Explorer Learning
Explorers have been working really hard this week. Our new topic has meant that we are staying with pirates as we meet captain Hook and Peter Pan.
To help you support your child’s learning at home, here are the things we are focusing on in the next week.

Our Pirate Party
This week we have been busy preparing for our Pirate Party. On Friday we had a busy morning decorating cakes with Alfie & Raul’s mummy’s and in the afternoonwe made party bags then played games, listened to stories, had a dance competition and of course finished with our Pirate Feast!
