Remembering

Published by at 6:15 pm under Uncategorized

Remember those who were lost; Remember those who died; Remember those who never returned

Every year we pay tribute to those who died so that we could be free

Men and women who selflessly sacrificed

Everything for us

Marching soldiers feeling sad, not knowing if they’ll make it home.

Bravely they fought for their country;   Bravely they fought for their king; Bravely they fought for us.

Everlasting love for the ones they missed

Red poppies swaying gracefully in the breeze; representing blood

In the trenches dark and dingy

Never giving up, fighting all day long

Grief was spread across the land

Wow, what a great use of an acrostic; and such a thoughtful piece of writing.
I found your use of alliteration very powerful:

    ‘selflessly sacrificed’
    ‘dark and dingy’

Very effective when combined with the repetition you used.

You used punctuation to great effect, but might suggest you add full stops or commas to break the lines of meaning, such as at the end of lines one and two.

    A compelling composition.

    Well done.
